Google Analytics Smart Goals

Google has come out with a new type of conversion tactic called ‘Smart Goals’. This new goal type Google says is for those who don’t have a high amount of real conversion data to diagnose properly in which they can use these ‘smart goals’ as a secondary conversion type.

This goal type is much different than normal custom created goals which could be using destination URLs, event tracking, duration, etc. Smart goal conversions occur when your site sees a ‘quality session’ based on a couple factors. Adwords Ad Rotation

One of the most important campaign settings is the Ad Rotation. This option allows your ads to rotate based on a few different option settings. The different options are listed below:

  • Optimize for Conversions
  • Optimize for Clicks
  • Rotate than Optimize after 90 days
  • Rotate Indefinitley

Google Partners Program

Google, for as long as I can remember, has always had some type of certification program for agencies and individuals which is now called the Google Partners program. This program is great because once you are certified, you are then eligible to show up in search results when people are looking for certified Google Agencies or Individuals.

Location Extensions for Higher Click Through Rates

One of the Ad Extensions offered in Google Adwords is the ‘location extension’ which shows your company’s physical location details. This is great for those with Adwords accounts who are looking to drive people to a storefront. The details are taken from your Google+ Company page which is setup through Google.ca/business.

Once you have the Adwords account linked properly to the Google+ page, your text ads will start to show these details when people trigger your ads. These little differences will make your ads stand out next to your competition and hopefully increase your click through rates.

Using the AdWords Callout Extension

Back in 2014 Google came out with a brand new type of ad extension to help make your ads stand out while next to your competitors ads. This new extension is much different than the current Location, Call, Review and other extensions that were already available in your account.  The new ad extension is called a ‘Callout Extension’ which are small lines of text located under your normal text ad description.
