Location Extensions for Higher Click Through Rates

One of the Ad Extensions offered in Google Adwords is the ‘location extension’ which shows your company’s physical location details. This is great for those with Adwords accounts who are looking to drive people to a storefront. The details are taken from your Google+ Company page which is setup through Google.ca/business.

Once you have the Adwords account linked properly to the Google+ page, your text ads will start to show these details when people trigger your ads. These little differences will make your ads stand out next to your competition and hopefully increase your click through rates.

Tweaking the Keyword Insertion Tag for Adwords

Google offers a dynamic tool when it comes to writing your text ads that allows you to insert the users search query into your ad text. You can place this keyword tag into both your Title and Description lines of ad text which allows for many different uses. Default text is also needed just in case the user’s search query is too long for the amount of characters allowed in AdWords ad text.

New Keyword Matching Option: Broad Match Modifier

Recently Google has introduced a new keyword matching option to go with the others. There used to be only Broad, Phrase and Exact keyword matching but now there is a 4th option. With the broad match type there is now an option called Broad Match Modifier which is used by putting a + sign in front of any words that must be a part of the surfer’s search phrase. Quality Differences Between the Search vs. Display Network

Making sure your account is setup on the proper network can make a huge difference in determining the success of your Google Adwords or Bing AdCenter account. There are a couple different network options to choose from  when creating campaigns which mostly revolve around the 3 listed below:
